Tjitske studied Medicine in Amsterdam and specialized in Anesthesiology in Groningen. She worked for a long time as an independent specialist and quickly saw that there was room for improvement wherever she looked. Tjitske enjoys asking questions – and really penetrating to the heart of the matter – and especially likes getting people on board with change. And since she wants to do that as effectively as possible too, she also even did an MBA with a healthcare focus.

Tjitske loves old cars, especially from before 1940. She chairs the Dutch Pioneer Car Club and rides around in a 1930 Ford – naturally restored down to the finest detail.

Tjitske is in her element in organizations where people have become completely stuck in their old ways. She quickly sees where things can be made better, safer and more efficient. And there are few things she enjoys more than ensuring that real improvements are achieved. It certainly helps that she combines the fresh perspective of an outsider with lots of experience in the field – and that she easily gets people on board with change. Because as she says herself, ‘To achieve real results, you need everybody.
